These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of OriginalityChecker.org (“the site,” “the service,” “we,” or “us”). By using this site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using OriginalityChecker.org, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Description of service
OriginalityChecker.org provides an online text analysis tool that assesses submitted content for indicators of AI-generated writing and similarities to published material. The service generates probabilistic scores and sentence-level breakdowns intended to assist users in evaluating the likely authorship characteristics of their text.
3. Permitted use
You may use this service for lawful, personal, educational, or professional purposes, including:
- Reviewing your own written work before submission or publication
- Assessing content you have received as part of an editorial, educational, or business process
- Research and evaluation of AI detection methodologies
4. Prohibited use
You agree not to use this service to:
- Submit content containing personal data of third parties without their consent
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract results from the service through automated means
- Use analysis results as sole or definitive evidence of academic dishonesty or misconduct in formal proceedings
- Misrepresent the service’s results to third parties in ways that are materially misleading
- Interfere with the operation of the site or circumvent any access restrictions
5. Accuracy and limitations
AI detection is probabilistic, not deterministic. Results generated by OriginalityChecker.org represent statistical likelihoods, not factual determinations of authorship. False positives (human text flagged as AI-generated) and false negatives (AI text not flagged) are possible.
Results should not be used as standalone evidence in academic, legal, or employment proceedings. We make no representations that our detection methodology meets evidentiary standards for any particular use case.
6. Intellectual property
All content, design, code, and materials on OriginalityChecker.org are the property of the site operators and are protected by applicable intellectual property law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from site content without written permission.
Text you submit for analysis remains your property. By submitting text, you grant us a limited, transient license to process it for the purpose of generating your result. This license expires immediately upon completion of the analysis.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that results will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, OriginalityChecker.org and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or reliance on the service, including but not limited to damages arising from decisions made on the basis of analysis results.
9. Modifications to service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes arising from use of this service shall be resolved in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the site operators are based.
